Mr. Swainston's will be relocating from our Westoe Road shop in 2026!
We first opened our Traditional Sweet Shop in May 2024, with just over 125 jars of sweets to choose from. Since then, we have continued to grow and grow, not only just our business, but our range of sweets on offer too. Today, we now have over 600 jars, and believe it or not, there is still more to fit onto our shelves!
We always knew that plans for our shop was to grow, but we never believed that in our first 2 years we would need somewhere bigger.
We have seen our online sales grow, and we now ship worldwide too. This means people in the USA, Australia and Europe are all experiencing Mr. Swainston's sweets in their homes abroad.
Too accommodate our grow, we have really pulled out all the stops at our current Westoe Road shop. We have removed walls to increase space. We have refurbished our basement to incorporate a packing and distribution centre for online orders. However, we have had to now admit, we've simply outgrown out space!
This is why we have secured a new shop premies, still in our hometown of South Shields, which will be like nothing you have ever seen before!
More space, more sweet but still 100% traditional.
It is our vision and goal to make our new premises a real destination. Think Charlie and the Chocolate Factory meets P-Louise and Beamish and you'll have a little insight to the feel and style we will be creating.
We will be sharing the location of our new store on Christmas Eve, so keep your eyes peeled on our social media channels.
